The deal
You give decades some words and some decades. It reads Etsy's newest listings for those words, keeps the ones from those decades, and emails you about the ones it has never reported before. Using the site means accepting this page. It is free.
What you are responsible for
- Judging the item. The era is the seller's claim, not a certificate, and nobody here verifies it. Every find links straight to the listing for that reason.
- Buying, or not. Nothing here is a recommendation and nothing here is for sale.
- Not automating against this site or trying to make it read Etsy faster than the six-hourly pass. Ten hunts per account, and the limit is there to keep API use honest.
What is not promised
- That you will see everything. A hunt reads three hundred listings a pass. Things below that, or listed and sold between passes, are never seen at all.
- That an item is still there. Vintage is usually one of a kind. A link in an email an hour old may already be a sold page, and that is the nature of the thing rather than a fault.
- That the pass always runs. Etsy's API can be slow, rate-limited, or down; when it is, the look is skipped and tried again six hours later.
- That the service continues. It is free and run by one person. If it ends you will be told by email before anything is deleted.
Provided as-is, with no warranty. Liability is limited to what you paid, which is nothing.
Etsy
decades reads Etsy's public API under Etsy's API Terms of Use, with an application key and no OAuth. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or certified by Etsy, Inc., and "Etsy" is their trademark. Listings and photographs belong to the sellers who posted them. Buying happens on etsy.com; nothing is sold here.
Ending it
Close the account from the account page and everything is erased on the spot. Accounts that abuse the service or the API may be closed without notice.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
